Landscapes
Thus far I have tended to paint only local landscapes, trying to capture the atmosphere and spirit of this place, Montagu and it's surrounds. It is a landscape I have been familiar with and enchanted by since thought and memory began and has reliably haunted my dreams whenever I have been too long away from it. To me the challenge is to try and capture those things about it which are mysterious and cannot be named or described, but which one simply knows because it has become inextricably part of one's soul. This is a perplexing and difficult thing to do.
